OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Enhancing Quality of Life and Independance
Our OT's will collaborate with clients of all ages, to determine their individual goals, and provide a tailored service to reach them. Our reputable therapist can provide a service within our Beulah Park clinic, in your home environment or in the community (i.e. education setting) depending on your individual goals and needs.
Sessions may involve fostering the skills and ability to complete activities of daily living (dressing, showering, toileting etc.), independent living skills (meal preparation, cleaning, laundry etc.), participation in leisure activities (hobbies, social events, play etc.) and participation in work, study or volunteering. OTs use a holistic approach, considering the person, their environment and the activity to support participation, enjoyment and success.

Functional Capacity Assessments
Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs) are a comprehensive, holistic and objective assessment of a person's current functional status. An FCA will assess and identify a person's areas of strength, as well as any areas a person may require support, assistance or assistive technology solutions.
FCAs may include face-to-face information gathering, an assessment of your home or community environments, a mixture of standardised and/or non-standardised assessments and communication with relevant key-stakeholders (with consent). A comprehensive report, including detailed recommendations, is then written, provided to and discussed with the individual.
FCAs can be valuable for NDIS participants to provide evidence of the type and level of support and funding they require to achieve their goals.
